50 Inch LCD Televisions: Are the Choices Limited?
The trend toward large, flat-screen televisions is growing because of a number of reasons. For one thing, picture quality is a vast improvement over the television sets of yesteryears. Also, they take up considerably less space than that occupied by bulky cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions.
And for another thing, prices of flat screen televisions are going down – making them much more affordable. While there are a number of companies offering 50 inch LCD televisions, it seems that there is a need for more choices. The 50 inch LCD televisions out on the market today are impressive.
Take for instance the Panasonic PT-50LC14 LCD TV. It is able to show enhanced-definition and high-definition content with an HD receiver. It can also double as an extremely large computer monitor.
The Hitachi 50V500 LCD TV makes the viewing experience a pleasant one because of technology that minimizes picture distortion and noise. Hitachi also offers the 50VX915 Directors Series LCD televisions. Out on the market, too, are 50-inch LCD rear projection televisions from famous brands such as Sony.
Some industry observers say that the LCD televisions with smaller screens have the best images and resolutions, and that for very large screens, plasma televisions provide better pictures. Proponents of large LCD TVs argue that large-screen LCD TVs offer high quality but at a lower price compared to plasma screens. Indeed, there are several companies (such as Sharp and LG) that have released LCD TVs with screen sizes larger than 50 inches, but they are not inexpensive.
In any case, some of the world’s leading television manufacturers, such as Panasonic and Hitachi, are not underestimating the demand for large-screen television sets. Their 50 inch televisions show their commitment to providing high quality products at reasonable prices – something that most consumers will appreciate.
