Christmas is practically around the corner – barely two months to go. If you’re the type of person who makes a list of people to give gifts to, now is the time to start – if you haven’t already. But what to give to that special person or persons, something useful and something impressive? Maybe you can consider giving a plasma TV. According to a study by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) – the Annual Holiday Spending Survey – plasma televisions come in second to MP3 players as the gift that consumers want most to give or receive for the holidays.
One thousand randomly selected adults in the United States were surveyed by phone and CEA|CNET Tech First Panel participants were interviewed to come up with this year’s results. Other consumer electronics items that made the list include digital cameras, laptop computers, desktop computers, and video game systems. This survey is also an indication that spending by consumers is set to increase over the holidays. Well, for many people, expenses usually skyrocket at that time anyway.
Although giving a plasma screen as a gift for Christmas may seem a bit extravagant, it probably helps that prices of these appliances have gone down a lot since they were introduced. But if you can afford to give it, why not? Chances are, the person you’ll give it to has it on his or her wish list. Now go and find a Christmas sock that’s large enough for it.
