Malaysian company Palladine Technology has launched a 50-inch plasma TV, the EPD5020, which, like many flat-screen display panels today, comes with a host of features. Joining the ranks of extra-large models already out on the market, this high definition TV offers a resolution of 1366 x 768, has a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a very impressive 5000:1 maximum contrast ratio.
Palladine exhibited its 50-inch plasma TV at the KL International AV Show 2005 in Malaysia, along with a number of its other digital display offerings. According to a report in the online version of New Straits Times, the EPD5020 has an integrated video scaler and de-interlacer that will convert incoming standard video signals to enable them to meet the plasma television’s high-definition native display resolution.
The plasma screen also comes with integrated TV tuner with text and supports PC display. The integrated stereo speakers and the detachable 10W speakers are also nice touches to this appliance. Other features include the Picture-in-Picture (PIP) function, D-Sub PC input and multi-language OSD.
The Palladine EPD5020 plasma TV looks to be a lean, mean viewing machine. And it sure needs to be, given the amount of competition it has out there.
